New Coast Chamber of Commerce Organization Shapes Future Business Leaders 

MS Gulf Coast – Coast Young Professionals (CYP), a new organization introduced and established by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, is now accepting membership applications from Gulf Coast professionals age 21-40 or the young at heart.

CYP will develop young leaders on the Mississippi Gulf Coast who want to grow their voice while being exposed to a diverse array of ideas from their peers.  The contemporary and forward-thinking organization will not only offer a unique networking opportunity for young professionals from across the Gulf Coast, but also extensive training in leadership and professional development.

“The Coast Chamber created this organization with two goals in mind,” said Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce CEO Kimberly Nastasi.  “One, to provide an active forum for young professionals to have a greater voice in their future and their family’s future here on the coast; and two, to make formal programs available to motivate our young professionals to be the dynamic and successful business leaders of tomorrow.”   

CYP will be led by a seven-member advisory board.  These diverse young professionals come from across the coast representing a variety of industry and interests.

“This generation of young professionals wants to carry on the strong legacy of responsibility and commitment to community left by the accomplished business leaders who inspired us,” said Giff Ormes, CYP charter advisory board member and area manager of Biloxi, for Mississippi Power.  “This is our opportunity to come together to leave our footprint behind.”
