Social/Networking Committee

The social/networking committee is an integral part of the organization.  Our job, in essence, is to make all of the members stay in touch, and to collaborate to reach goals, both financially and socially.  By hosting such events as the monthly socials, members of the organization get a chance to interact and make connections that will last a lifetime.  This is especially important since we are young professionals.  It is often hard for young people to enter a marketplace and succeed, because sometimes older, more established, people have made penetrated a certain marketplace and made a name for themselves.

Our job, as we see it, is not only to make our members more successful, but also to introduce them to people like themselves.  All people like to associate themselves with people who have similar goals and interests.  Most of our goals include succeeding, both in business and in life, and therefore we have quarterly socials, which are more about having fun and meeting new people. 

The social/networking committee currently has planned the following events for the upcoming year:

Speed Networking  -  Similar to speed dating, speed networking allows several people to be seated at a table and each person gives a 1 minute “commercial” about themselves, then 1 minute is allowed for questions.  After everyone at the table has finished and exchanged business cards, they switch tables and do it again, until everyone has met everyone.  Following the “commercials” time, time is given for people to converse with anyone they chose.

Monthly Socials – Networking opportunity.  Last year we had many venues such as the Hard Rock, the Beau Rivage, Gulf Hills Country Club, the Island View Casino and the Imperial Palace.

Quarterly Socials – More of an opportunity to socialize and meet new people at a fun event.  Ideas for next year’s socials range from a Spring Formal to a Halloween Party.
